Honeywell at Beijing Air Traffic Control Exhibition 2014 - News

China Economic Net, Beijing, September 19 (Reporter Chen Yi) The air traffic control exhibition (ATC), which was held for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region, was held at the Beijing International Convention Center from September 17 to 19. ATC Global Congress, the world's largest and most authoritative air traffic control exhibition, is held in the Asia-Pacific region, reflecting that China and the Asia-Pacific transportation hub have gradually become important air transport hubs in the world.

Honeywell Aerospace Group showcased its innovations in the field of air traffic management (ATM) at the show, showcasing Honeywell's ATM solutions through a large interactive air traffic management display, including the SmartPath Land-Based Augmentation System (GBAS), IntuVue 3D weather radar, Smart Runway and Smart Landing.

In an interview with China Economic Network, Mr. Na Paul, Business Development Director of Asia Pacific of Honeywell Aerospace Group, pointed out that Honeywell has long been aware of the growth of the Asia-Pacific region and plans the region as a high-growth area for future business. With the rapid and steadily growing demand for air travel, airports and airlines in the Asia-Pacific region are facing challenges from surges in air passenger traffic, ensuring flight safety, and reducing air traffic congestion.

Honeywell has partnered with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and aviation companies in China. Honeywell's technologies and solutions are now installed at more than 500 airports around the world, and its air traffic management technologies, such as land-based augmentation systems, have been installed at more than 15 airports in multiple regions. "Honeywell is also developing air traffic management technology for the U.S. Next Gen Next Gen program to enable aircraft to fly as straight as possible to save fuel, reduce emissions, and reach their destinations on time, thereby improving flight punctuality and reducing flight delays," he emphasized. ”

Highlights of Honeywell's 2014 ATC Global Conference:

The SmartPath GBAS land-based augmentation system can cover four runways at the same time, support up to 26 aircraft advances at the same time, and allow aircraft to make approaches or straight approaches on complex routes through accurate GPS data, helping aircraft reduce total fuel consumption and reduce avoidable flight delays. Sydney Airport has recently installed Honeywell Land-based Enhancement System to help support its ability to better face increasing air traffic flows. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is currently testing a land-based augmentation system in preparation for its status as a regional aviation hub.

The SmartRunway system and SmartLanding provide real-time audio-visual alerts to aircraft during taxiing, takeoff and landing to increase pilot situational awareness and reduce the risk of runway deviation. More than 95% of runway accidents are caused by runway deviation.

· Honeywell's over-the-air wireless connectivity solutions provide customers with speeds of up to 49MB/s, enabling the same wireless connectivity experience as in a home or office environment. In addition to increasing passenger comfort, the avionics and hardware developed by Honeywell for GX Aviation will provide more effective support for new services for aircraft operators and airlines, such as preventive maintenance and better flight communications, and will create a truly "connected aircraft" with the advantages of fast and stable network connectivity around the world. Honeywell Aerospace Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Air China (Air China) to test GX Ka-band network connectivity on Air China A330 aircraft starting in the second quarter of 2015.

IntuVue 3D weather radar provides pilots with critical and accurate meteorological information through 3D display and analysis tools to help pilots make the most informed decisions when flying in extreme weather. IntuVue reduces maintenance costs by improving aircraft reliability to reduce flight operating costs, optimizing flight paths to reduce fuel consumption, and avoiding storms that can harm the aircraft. At the same time, the system can also provide upgrades for many aircraft already equipped with weather radar.
